Paleo Grocery Shopping: Aldi, Costco, and Price Chopper

I am making/taking food for 3 different events this week.  While I try to do some paleo-friendly dishes when I take food somewhere, you will notice a few most definitely non-paleo items on the lists for a few of these events this week.

Aldi: $25
  • ro-tel
  • carrots
  • celery (2)
  • avocados (6)
  • bag of apples (2)
  • kiwi (4)
  • strawberries (2 packages)
  • crushed pineapple (4)
  • crescent rolls (2 - for church)
  • canned salmon

Costco: $72

  • deli turkey
  • Kerrygold butter
  • Tillamook cheddar
  • salsa
  • bananas (3 bags)
  • romain lettuce
  • sweet potatoes
  • frozen organic green beans
  • eggs (5 dozen)
  • almond butter
  • organic corn tortilla chips

Price Chopper: $8
  • chicken breasts (3 packages)
  • Kool Aid (our cheap alternative to keep on hand for when we have guests)

....AND....dum-da-da-DUM- 10 lbs. grassfed beef, 1 dozen pastured eggs, and a pastured whole chicken from the local ranch!  I was finally in town on pick-up day!

Also, I went to Hy-Vee really quickly on Thursday and got 8 lbs. of strawberries, 2 limes, a quart of heavy cream, and some Blue Bell ice cream :)  I spent $17.  Aldi and Hy-Vee both have great prices on strawberries right now.

I'm having some ice cream this weekend. Because I am choosing to, not because I am vulnerable.  I decided that makes the difference.
